About
Jason serves as Co-Minister at The Oceanside Sanctuary in Oceanside, CA alongside his wife Jenell. In 2010, after 15 years as an Evangelical pastor in small and large congregations in Utah, Ohio, and California, he experienced a dramatic shift in his faith and left ministry to work in the nonprofit sector. Five years later he returned to ministry to create safe spaces for people undergoing similar shifts. His passion is to empower both people and organizations with a healthier spirituality, so they can better navigate the normal stages of lifelong change, growth, and development.
Jason is ordained by the Vineyard Community of Churches and The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 2019. He has served as a Board member and Co-Chair of the Transformation Committee for the Pacific Southwest Region of the Disciples of Christ as an a Board member for the San Diego Organizing Project. He earned his M.A. at Fuller Theological Seminary and is currently working toward a PhD in Intercultural Studies doing research at the intersection of mission studies, public theology, and moral development. He is also a part-time member of the Human Development faculty for the California State University at San Marcos, where he teaches nonprofit leadership and social policy. In his spare time he curates Apocalyptic Archives, a small vintage book shop in Oceanside.
